Short description
Large thorns (not conspicuously white) on snout, around eyes, on shoulders, and in a single interrupted row on the nape and from the midback to the tail base (Ref. 5578). Pectoral disc more angular than in other legskates (Ref. 5578). Legskates have pelvic fins separated into a mobile leg-like front lobe, and a rear lobe that may be fused to the tail base (Ref. 5578). Grey brown above with darker spots or patches along the midline (more conspicuous in young than adult), pale below, no tail bands (Ref. 5578).
